H20....

It was an early spring afternoon, Ms Melina was doing her pre-season clean up. She was getting the pool entrance ready for spring plantings.  While trimming the over grown ivy, she was startled by a bright green frog. He hopped quickly to another vine and she commented on how he looked."Wow little frog, you are a loveliest color of green I have ever seen!"

Then the frog began to climb up the ivy vine. "Oh my," commented Ms. Melina,  "I love how you have yellow chaps, they are like cowboys wear over their jeans to protect against saddle sores." To this, she heard a chuckle. She turned and no one was around. Could this frog be laughing?  She wondered.  Then she said to the frog; "It would be nice to know what all you frogs thought of all the swimming lessons you've seen us teach." She laughed to herself and went back to trimming the ivy when she heard,"I love seeing all the kids learn to swim, it reminds me of when I was a tadpole."  Ms Melina was speechless. No one was around to witness this amazing conversation.

Ms Melina sat down on the ground, found herself wondering if this was all dream, but the little green frog crawled back down the ivy and hopped over, on to her knee.  He looked up at her and said, "Are you okay?  I did not mean to shock you, I just decided to answer your question. We frogs love to see kids learn to swim and your staff make it so much fun."

Ms. Melina smiled and said, "I can not believe this is happening. Why are you trusting me with this secret, that you're able to talk!"
"Well," the frog replied,  "You love all the creatures that venture close enough to see you teach and we appreciate everyone not bothering us. We love knowing we are safe and have a home. The lizards, dragonflies, hummingbirds, and we frogs appreciate how you rescue us when we fall in the pool or get trapped in the pool enclosure.  We just can not stop trying to get a closer look.  We love watching all the kids have fun."

"Well, I have been rude," said Ms Melina. "I know you must have a name."  "But of course," said the frog, "Don't laugh, it's 'H2O."  Ms Melina's smile attempted to hide her chuckle, but then H2O started to laugh and she too lost it. Well, what am I going to do with you, a talking frog definitely needs special consideration!  H2O, what can I do for you? "Really?" he replied. "Of course," she said.   "Well, I would like to get a closer look at the kids, and I have always wanted to help you teach some tricks only we frogs know."  "Oh, I would love that!," she responded. "Where do you want to teach from?" she asked.

"Well, we frogs like the black toy boxes," he said.   "Ah, I have seen other frogs in there, "replied Ms. Melina.  "Oh, those are my cousins, CL,  PH. and Frogbite," he said. "We love the boxes because they provide us shade, protection and a place to watch from. Then at night we catch bugs and are close enough to take a dip in the pool."

Ms. Melina started to laugh again. "So, late night our pool is used for froggy-skinny-dipping, that explains why there seems to be fewer bugs in the pool in morning." H2O began to laugh, "yeah, I am afraid we also like to eat in the pool." H2O hopped from Ms Melina's knee, back to the ivy and began climbing up the vine, he turned and said "You know, many of the creatures here in the woods have special teaching tricks they would love to share."

Ms Melina told him, "Any trick, skill or idea to assist our swimmers on their path of learning, trusting and having fun is welcome here!"  H2O, replied, "We knew you'd feel that way, that is why we are here, and we will help in any opportunity you give us." Up the vine he climbed, a surprise from nature. One who was willing to help in the name of friendship.
